The preliminary matchups were actually ahead of schedule despite the tournament itself starting 25 minutes later than planned which was a pleasant surprise to all participants because of the heat reaching near triple digits throughout the day. After 45 games were played 8 out of the 15 teams advanced to the next round. Leading the pack was Paintball Gateway Mischief going undefeated through the first round of the event and showing no signs of slowing down. Close behind was Field of Fire in 2nd only dropping one game. The rest of those advancing shaped up as follows: Brotherhood 3rd, GAT Factory 4th, Chikun Nuggetz 5th, LA Hitmen 6th, Evil Intent 2 7th, and Order of Seven in 8th.

The quarterfinals came and went revealing which teams had the stamina to continue their journey to the top of the day at event one. Paintball Gateway Mischief continued their unbeaten streak taking care of Order of Seven in 2 quick games. Field of Fire barely advanced in a fantastic match against Evil Intent 2 that went to a one on one match. That quarter final series was definitely the most entertaining to watch as we saw Field of Fire pull out a 1 v 3 victory against Evil Intent 2 in order to force the deciding game. GAT Factory defeated Chikun Nuggetz in a series filled with bold moves by both teams and Brotherhood lost to Hitmen in three games.

The semi finals matched up Paintball Gateway Mischief against Los Angeles Hitmen and GAT Factory against Fields of Fire. It was the Hitmen who provided Mischief with their first loss of the tournament up to this point but in the end they were unable to best them in the third in final game. GAT Factory dropped the first game to Fields of Fire but immediately came back to handle business and solidify a shot at the title.

The end of the day saw two teams, Paintball Gateway Mischief and GAT Factory, ironically both wearing green, playing for not only the $1000 cash money first place prize, but the right to know that at the end of the day, they could say that they were number one. GAT Factory lost the first game to Mischief, in what to some may be considered quite a surprise given GAT Factory’s success this season. However, Mischief had been on fire most of the day and could have easily been considered the favorites to win the event at the end of the prelims. Yet, game two revealed an entirely different GAT Factory as they came out guns blazing showing why they have had such success this season. As both teams took the field for final game of the first event of OSOKO the air was filled with suspense as each team broke out taking their positions on the field. Once the dust settled, only one team was left standing, GAT Factory.
